About: 

Artist Paul Coldwell will talk informally about this project and his approach to new technology and use in his current exhibition “Temporarily Accession-Freud’s Coat Revisited” at the Freud Museum London features his first 3D printwork, ‘A ghostly return’. which is a reconstruction of all the objects on Freud’s desk 3D printed in nylon.

Paul Coldwell is Professor in Fine Art at University of the Arts London where he specialises in printmaking and sculpture. In the mid 90’s he led a research project, The integration of Computers within Fine Art Practice which later evolved into FADE (Fine Art Digital Environment), a joint project between Camberwell & Chelsea colleges of art.

His current exhibition “Temporarily Accession-Freud’s Coat Revisited” at the Freud Museum London features his first 3D printwork, ‘A ghostly return’ which is a reconstruction of all the objects on Freud’s desk 3D printed in nylon. In addition he has a full size digital print of Freud’s coat made from x-rays taken at the National Gallery London and laser cut woodcut prints.
