As part of our week long 'Arts Work of The Future' residency at Tate Exchange in March we aim to build collaborations and partnerships so we can develop ideas and proposals which we can use to prepare joint funding bids between members of the Digital Maker Collective & our sector partners.

Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards 2018
The Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards celebrate organisations that are achieving excellence in social impact in Greater London. Eligible activities include charity partnerships, employability initiatives, finding innovative ways to address social issues, programmes working to scale up SMEs, social enterprises or charity organisations. There are several categories including the "Community Partners Award". Winners will receive a fully-edited video of their initiative, support securing press and media coverage, and a Dragon Award statue to mark their success. Examples of partnerships may Include:
-Working with a business to engage, manage and support employee volunteers in different roles to address a social need.
-Working with a marketing business to run a campaign addressing a societal issue.
Applications are welcome from all organisations which are making a positive impact and engaging with communities in London.
Deadline 16 April 2018.
Innovate UK Emerging and Enabling Technologies Sector Competition
This competition is designed to support innovation that will inspire new products, processes and services which can address challenges in emerging and enabling technologies across different industry sectors. IUK is looking to fund a portfolio of projects, across different technologies, different markets and different technology maturities. These may include feasibility studies, industrial research or experimental development. Projects must show significant innovation in one of IUK's four priority areas:
-Emerging technologies
-Digital
-Enabling capabilities (including creative economy & design)
-Space applications.
Projects should range in size from total costs of £35,000 to £2 million and must last between 3 months and 3 years. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are also being funded through this call (for more details about KTPs see below).
Deadline 28 March 2018.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)
This is a government-funded scheme set up to help UK organisations access the expertise available within Universities, enabling knowledge exchange, research collaboration and innovation. Up to £80,000 per annum is available for a standard KTP and each KTP is part-funded by Innovate UK and/or one of the UK Research Councils.
Why should I consider a KTP?
-Can be REF-returnable & helps with demonstrating impact.
-Provides an opportunity to develop case studies & produce research papers
-Can provide new material to enhance teaching, curriculum and student's industry exposure
-Helps generate income for your department

Nesta - 'Good Help' Awards
Nesta's "Good Help" Award will reward organisations that demonstrates they are helping people to find their sense of purpose and develop their confidence to take action to transform their lives, rather than focusing on fixing a problem for them. Nesta will use the award process to identify and celebrate all of the most promising 'good help' projects - not just the winners - and will be looking for opportunities to share best practice and learning in ways that can help them all increase their impact. There are three awards available - one £15,000 winner, and two £5,000 runners up. Any organisation or team from within the public, voluntary, community or social enterprise sectors in the UK are eligible to apply. All applicants must be offering 'good help' through an established (ie operational for at least 12 months or more) project, programme or service in the UK.

KTN | Breakthrough Cities Workshop: Business Model Innovation for Urban Challenges
A one-day workshop bringing together innovative SMEs, Academia and local Government decision-makers from across London. The purpose is to develop new business and engagement models to solve complex urban challenges. The specific focus of this event will be low carbon and circular economy innovation for the built environment. For more information and to register click here.

Pre-call - Digital Health Technology Catalyst Call (second round)
The digital health technology catalyst is a £35 million funding programme to be funded through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund over a four-year period. Managed by Innovate UK (IUK), the £8m fund for this round will support projects that develop new digital technology solutions to healthcare challenges. Projects must focus on the development of digitally-enabled solutions that have the potential to:
• Improve health and close the health and wellbeing gap.
• Transform care and close the care and quality gap.
• Control costs and enable change, closing the finance and efficiency gap through the use of technology to maintain or improve levels of care with reduced spending.
The fund encourages collaboration between academic researchers, healthcare providers and at least one SME.
Applications will open on 15 February 2018, with the deadline falling on 18 April 2018.
RCUK/UKRI Innovation Fellowships
Applications of up to £250k (fEC) are invited through a highlight notice in the AHRC's Leadership Fellows Scheme. The RCUK/UKRI Innovation Fellowships will allow early career researchers (ECRs) to explore interdisciplinary research challenges and partnerships to the economic benefit of the UK. There are three thematic strands under which applications can be made:
-Creative and Digital Economy Innovation Leadership Fellows: for ECRs wishing to undertake an innovative research programme and leadership activities in partnership with creative or digital economy organisations
-Inter-disciplinary Interface Innovation Leadership Fellows: for ECRs wishing to undertake an innovative research programme and leadership activities in partnership with creative or digital economy organisations
-Rutherford Fund Fellows: specifically aimed at non UK applicants.
Deadline 31 May 2018.
Second Active and Assisted Living (AAL) Smart Ageing Prize
The AAL Programme and Nesta’s Challenge Prize Centre have identified a gap for technological solutions targeting the 65-plus market. The Smart Ageing Prize is looking for solutions with the following characteristics:
-Use of innovative digital technologies to engage older adults in social and stimulating activities, promoting active and connected ageing
-Short time to market (not more than 18 months) following the award of the prize
-Co-designed with users, the final solution is capable of delivering a measurable improvement in the number of older adults participating in social activities
The prize will not award solutions such as medical devices or those that focus solely on health and care needs.The Prize is open to individuals, groups and organisations from across Europe and will provide mentoring and prizes totalling €50,000.
