What's Happening DMC?

Now we have familiarized ourselves with the Camberwell Playground, we can also start to consider meeting in other spaces & locations. So please think about other locations to call meet-ups, they do not always have to be in UAL, we can also try virtual meet ups?

Chelsea MakerSpace re-opening !

Talking about new spaces to meet, we have some great news! Chelsea MakerSpace a student led collaborative makerspace is due to be set up again from next week by students. More news to follow, but DMC should be able to start meeting at Chelsea Makerspace again from 26th November :)  

Data meet-up 20-11-18:

Anyone interested in Data and would like to kick off a DMC Data group? If so please send c.follows@arts.ac.uk an email. We plan to hold a kick off meet up for all those interested:

DMC late drop-in 22-11-18 

  • Where: Camberwell Playground
  • Date: Thursday 22nd November
  • Time: 4-7pm
  • Meet up contact: Chris Follows
  • What: General informal drop-in session to, chance to develop ideas, try stuff out and kick off new meet-up, build on existing areas of interest, find out more about the DMC or suggest some new areas of research like Blockchain, AI Monopolies, cryptos, decentralized systems ??

Uses of AI in Contemporary Art

  • Where: Serpentine Gallery
  • Date: Friday 23rd November
  • Time: 11am - 1pm
  • Meet up contact: Nana Maiolini & Francisco Mazza
  • What: Discussion about DMC research on AI. Plan a visit to the exhibition Pierre Huyghe: UUmwelt, in which the artist creates a complex immersive ecosystem using artificial intelligence at the Serpentine Gallery. Francisco Mazza (DMC participant) is offering an exhibition tour followed by a chat at the Serpentine. 

What Happened DMC week 12-16 November?

Fab session augmenting the creative process with machine intelligence with Happy Finish Global 

WOW what an amazing afternoon/eve talking #AI #AR #MR#VR #MachineLearning in the Creative Process with #happyfinish & #artsDMC :) we are looking to collaborate further with Happy Finish. They are doing some amazing work with machine learning.

Happy Finish Charity Exhibition - Call for entry extended the deadline for submissions until 7th December

Happy Finish are hosting a charity art exhibition event in London in 2019 called Art: Disrupted and are looking for talented young creatives to collaborate with in producing artwork for the event. DMC Roadmap – Timeline Nov 18 – March 19: 

Nov 2018 is the month of DMC play & experimentation getting to know each other & creating & defining new DMC communities of interest:

Those who came along this week managed to propose three new interest groups/clusters and DMC facilitators have arranged kick off meetings, please sign up and join in or just find out more about the topics being discussed.
 
Remember, remember from November its all about starting fresh:

  • internal reflection
  • making time to understand what the DMC is
  • how we can work together in groups?
  • what our shared interests & values are? 
  • DMC relationship to our own personal practice & values
