Beta Society: Tate Exchange March 2019

BETA SOCIETY WITH DIGITAL MAKER COLLECTIVE

5–10 MARCH 2019 AT 12.00–17.00

Recalibrate your digital life through citizen-centred innovation and debate

Join the Digital Maker Collective, invited guest contributors and our community partners to campaign for a Beta Society and help us to recalibrate our digital lives through citizen centered innovation. This week-long event aims to establish a new community of creatives, students, industry and public, exploring social mobility through a digital lens.

Throughout the week, you will have the opportunity to engage in collaborative workshops and open debate, help us explore the pervasive impacts of technology on our everyday lives as we learn together through socially engaged digital practice.

  • How can we use digital technology to better enable positive change for social mobility and greater accessibility to education and work?
  • How do we create a neutral space that can avoid structured mandates and support true collaboration and social inclusion?
  • What challenges are there for local communities in representing themselves in a different location, environment and context such as public art galleries or educational institutions?

At the end of this week-long event, we hope to establish the foundations to build a new sustainable future for the Beta Society, a future where we can continue meaningful and long-term engagement beyond the event. For more Information and details of the week-long programme or how to keep connected with the Beta Society after the event please visit: http://digitalmakercollective.org and the #betasociety hashtag.
