When & Where:
TATE EXCHANGE, Level 5, Switch House, Bankside, London, SE1 9TG (12pm - 5:30pm)
About:

As members of the Digital Maker Collective, we are aiming to explore the relationships between the public and new technologies. Sen5.0 is an attempt to create an intuitive and playful experience. The public will have the possibility to have various impacts on a digital interface by shaping visual designs through their movements. Our intention is to create a space that can be mainly orchestrated by the public and hopefully, exists as a place for exchange.

Emerging from the kinetic phenomenon, Wen-Ying Tsai’s piece Umbrella (1971), demonstrates participatory characteristics. This piece, as an example of electronic art, has motivated us to continue exploring this field. We are trying to reinforce the public experience using sensors resembling Umbrella’s response to sound by means of microphones. The public will have the possibility to have various impacts on a digital interface by shaping visual designs through their movements. Being involved in the Tate Exchange as members of the Digital Maker Collective is an opportunity that has helped us to develop our research further by nourishing our interest for the relation between past and future of creative disciplines.
