In March 2018, the Digital Maker Collective transformed the Tate Exchange, 5th floor of Tate Modern into a large public tech innovation hub, a six day residency entitled ‘Arts Work of the Future’.
What does Knowledge Exchange mean to you?
The event saw a series of public facing projects which included drop-in style working spaces where the public got involved in rapid prototyping, discussions around artificial intelligence, virtual reality and environmental issues. Their work was presented alongside global collaborators from Russia, Ireland and Denmark attracting over 4000 visitors and national press coverage.
What was your most memorable encounter with the public at Tate Exchange?
We have lots of really great footage and hope to create some more shorts in September 2018 around different/other Knowledge Exchange themes, so please sign up to the mailing list for updates.
The Digital Maker Collective is a group of artists, designers, staff and students from Chelsea, Camberwell and Wimbledon College of Arts exploring emerging digital technologies in arts, education, society and the creative industries.
We are currently in the process of documenting the specific impacts of the different stakeholders involved in the Tate Exchange, please see here for updates on this, which will include a video case study. http://digitalmakercollective.org/node/337
