Owen Thomas Davies

Multidisciplinary designer working at the intersection of fashion and technology with a focus on sustainability.

Owen Thomas Davies is a third-year Creative Direction for Fashion student at the London College of Fashion and multidisciplinary designer working at the intersection of fashion and technology with a focus on sustainability. Through his work he seeks to create immersive experiences, both physical and digital, that showcase dress in an entirely new and meaningful way, and inspire positive change. He has collaborated with a number of forward-thinking clients and cultural institutions including Victoria and Albert museum, Microsoft and Cubitts, and is currently developing an AR retail experience centred around upcycling for Responsible fashion brand Raeburn.

DMC & Me:

Owen joined the DMC at the start of the 2020/21 academic year after discovering the group through seeing friend and fellow member Ashwini posting about its activities on Instagram. Since then he has become an active member, regularly attending bi-weekly sessions and contributing to the conversation on emerging technologies. He is grateful to be a part of this wonderful community which has served him especially well during the pandemic and allowed him to explore his interests in new media. His highlights include co-moderating the scene on sustainability as part of the Digital Fashion Immersive Round Table event where he received the unique opportunity to speak to leaders in the field, and for the insights he gathered interviewing various members of the group which was instrumental in shaping the development of his dissertation investigating this same subject. Owen is very much looking forward to continuing his involvement with the DMC and collaborating to create something special together in the future.
