Founded in 2007 in Saint Petersburg (RU), CYLAND MediaArtLab is an expanding community of artists, critics, curators, coders, engineers and media activists interested in creating and uniting the evolving horizon of art and tech. CYLAND, one of the most active international New Media Art non-profit organizations, houses the largest archive of Eastern European video art online, and organizes exhibitions, lectures and workshops at top art and tech institutions around the world.
What Cyland aim to bring/offer to the event incubator/accelerator:
In collaboration with Digital Maker Collective, Cyland pivots off the benefits of engaging and involving an audience through various experimental facets. By stepping away from traditional art forums and into environments such as Tate Exchange, Cyland can fully provide an engaged and technologically vast creative venture.
What Cyland hope to get from the event:
Cyland Media Art Lab is consistently working to be both conductor and receiver. Exchanging ideas and interactions is an entry point for new registers and examinations on our current proverbial selves; all through the lens of art:tech. Stemming from this exchange, we hope to further develop future projects based on our project's feedback. At the core of all out projects, is dialogue, and it's that dialogue that excites us, and helps us decipher where we're going next.
